Hologram compositing breakdown
A minimal base render and 3D camera export to After Effects enabled most of the work to be completed in 2D, dramatically speeding up iteration and reducing render time.
We collaborated with Reactiv Toronto, who shot and directed the live-action footage.
On set, colored key lights were used to match the holograms added in post, providing interactive lighting that supported clean integration in comp and strengthened the illusion that the holograms were lighting the actors.
This digital slot machine game served as the primary reference, from which all hologram designs were developed.
A look at the evolution of the hologram designs. Our goal was to create UI that feels grounded in reality; interfaces that function logically within the context of sports betting, slot machines, and lottery systems.

The Result
Our holograms are featured in six of the final shots. The strength of the on-set production, paired with refined 3D execution, created a cohesive and visually compelling result.
