To soften the subject matter, we developed a visual style blending illustrative 2D elements with low-poly 3D characters, shaped through an early look-development phase.
We gathered reference for the main character to test client response and created a low-fidelity storyboard to outline the shot progression.
Behind the scenes
We combined a straightforward quadruped rig and run cycle, Sketch & Toon renders for a charcoal-pencil aesthetic, and motion clips to create staggered movement; just a few of the techniques powering the 3D scenes.
